We suggest heading down to New Bedford this weekend for the 7th annual  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.workingwaterfrontfestival.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Working Waterfront Festival<\/a>.\u00a0This year&#8217;s theme is <em>All in One Boat: the Cultural Mosaic of New England&#8217;s Working Ports<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the focus on cultural diversisty,\u00a0the festival programming speaks to the common challenges facing fishing communities around the globe, especially in light of recent changes in fisheries management. Come enjoy live maritime and ethnic music,\u00a0listen to\u00a0tales from Cape Verdean Longshoremen,\u00a0try your hand at mending a fishing net,\u00a0watch a coast guard rescue demonstration, walk the decks of a scalloper, eat fresh seafood, and\u00a0immerse yourself in\u00a0an insider&#8217;s view of the local industry that brings\u00a0seafood from the ocean to your plate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1400\" title=\"Tugboat muster.
