Paper is still the most common way of transmitting architectural information and ideas. From initial sketches to the iterative design process, from presentation to white prints, it is the drawing on paper that is critiqued, approved, and followed. Architects need paper plans to get client approval or obtain a building permit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.massfolkarts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/architectural-drawing-with-seal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-4417\" alt=\"architectural drawing with seal\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.massfolkarts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/architectural-drawing-with-seal.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Contractors, engineers, and builders need a paper plan from which to work.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Architectural drawings (floor plans, sectionals, and elevations) might be perplexing to someone who doesn\u2019t know how to \u201cread\u201d them, but with a 3-D representational scale model, no translation is necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As a student at the  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-bac.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Architectural College<\/a>, Russell Call is learning the essential skills of architectural drawing and model making.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.massfolkarts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Russell-measuring2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4420\" alt=\"Russell Call measuring\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.massfolkarts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Russell-measuring2.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.massfolkarts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Russell-measuring2.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blog.massfolkarts.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Russell-measuring2-300x274.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 85vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">P<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">aper is used to make massing models.
